FIRST-YEAR Students
First-year students are high school students applying to attend college for the first time within two years of graduation.
TRANSFER Students
You are considered a transfer student if you have enrolled at another college or university since graduating from high school.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
International students are required to submit a NACES Evaluation. We accept evaluations from TEC, WES, ECE or IEE and other accredited members of NACES and AICE. You can find a list of accredited members on their websites.
International students who are admitted and enroll at The University of Akron will automatically receive a $300 scholarship to support the cost of the NACES evaluation. Please note that the $300 scholarship will be applied to the account.
GRADUATE Students

Qualifying Ohio students in grades 7-12 can earn both secondary school and college credit for free.
ADULT
If you’ve never attended college and it’s been more than two years since you graduated from high school or earned a G.E.D., we can help you get started.
GUEST
If you attend another college and want to take a few classes at UA before returning to your college, start here.
POST-BACCALAUREATE
